MANILA--JD Cagulangan helped save the day for Suwon as the team crawled back to beat Daegu, 75-74, in their KBL battle on Tuesday night at the Suwon KT Sonicboom Arena.

Cagulangan, known for his clutch shots in the past that helped the University of the Philippines capture two UAAP titles in four seasons, scored a game-tying basket with 54 seconds left for a 74-all count.

Moon Jeong-Hyeon then finished the job for the Sonicboom as he made the go-ahead free throw with two seconds left off a Jeong Seong-Woo foul.

Moon's clutch charity, although he settled for a split from the foul line, made up for his costly turnover in which he botched Cagulangan's pass off his rebound.

Moon got his shot at payback when Rayshaun Hammonds blocked SJ Belangel's layup attempt and Moon got the rebound, although he would still give Daegu a chance to win the game at the buzzer.

However, Andrew Nicholson missed his buzzer-beater, letting Suwon escape.

Moon Seong-Gon led the Sonicboom, now a half-game behind the Changwon LG Sakers for second place at 25-17, with 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Hammonds and Moon Jeong-Hyeon each scored 14 points, while Cagulangan added 12 for Suwon, which ended the game on a 6-0 run.

Nicholson put up 17 points on 4-of-5 shooting from deep, eight rebounds, and one block, while Belangel contributed 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals for the Pegasus, which fell to 22-19.
