MPBL: Imus pulls away late to complete comeback vs Mindoro

TAGUIG--Imus went on a late blast to take down Mindoro, 83-75, in their MPBL season opener on Monday night at the Robert Estrella Memorial Stadium in Rosales, Pangasinan.

With the game tied at 71 entering the last three minutes, the Bandera franchise, now known as the Brotherhood, went on a 10-2 run to take an 81-73 lead with 1:17 left.

Tzaddy Rangel kept the Tamaraws in the game with a floater that cut the lead down to six, 81-75, with 58.2 seconds to go.

However, Reggie Basibas converted on a layup off a nice feed from JV Dela Cruz with 49.3 seconds remaining, essentially icing the game for Imus.

Mark Doligon led the Brotherhood, who outscored the Tamaraws, 51-34, in the second half to pull off a comeback, with 20 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks, while JJ Caspe added 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block.

Wendell Comboy and Ken Bono each scored 14 markers for Mindoro, which saw its star-studded coaching staff getting a loss in their debut.
