Diego Dario had a solid MPBL debut. MPBL |
MANILA--Quezon proved to Batangas City on Wednesday night that winning the MPBL South Division championship last year was no fluke.
The Huskers scored a 70-46 win against the Rum Masters in their conference finals rematch at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.
Quezon did not need an endgame drama like how it stole Game 2 from Batangas City in the final seconds, as all it took for the road team was a solid defensive stand to stifle the host.
Although the Rum Masters took a 14-12 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Huskers slowly pulled away as the game continued, and the away side went on a 20-9 third quarter to essentially seal the win.
Diego Dario introduced himself to the MPBL community with a 13-point output off the bench with one steal as he went 5-for-8 from the field to lead Quezon.
Judel Fuentes and Ximone Sandagon each added nine markers.
None of the Batanguenos finished in double figures, with Jan Ambuludto the top scorer for the home team with nine points, five rebounds, and two steals.
