Liquid PH escaped another brave fight from AP Bren to go 3-0. MPL Philippines |
MAKATI—The Cavalry is back in full force.
Team Liquid Philippines showcased their championship pedigree, edging out AP Bren in a 2-0 series sweep during the MPL Philippines Season 15 regular season on Saturday evening at the Green Sun Hotel Ballroom.
TLPH set the tone early, dismantling AP Bren in Game 1 with a dominant 21-7 finish in just 14 minutes and 44 seconds.
Sanford's Hilda was the star of the show, delivering a flawless performance with a 5/0/6 KDA, controlling the map, and executing surgical pick-offs that left AP Bren with no room to recover.
Game 2 was a different story.
With a commanding 5.2k gold lead, TLPH appeared poised to close out the series swiftly.
However, Der’s Badang had other plans, landing a massive three-man wall stun at the 8:41 mark.
The follow-up crowd control from kkd0t’s Gatotkaca and chovskrt’s Vexana turned the tide, breathing life back into AP Bren's chances.
Despite the setback, TLPH’s composure never wavered.
The former world champions played a disciplined pick-off game, trading kills efficiently and preventing AP Bren from capitalizing fully on their momentum.
The decisive moment came at the final lord fight, where JamesPangks' Suyou managed to secure the lord for AP Bren.
However, TLPH’s counter-engage was clinical—they sacrificed the lord but wiped out four members of AP Bren, leaving only kkd0t to defend.
Seizing the opportunity, TLPH swiftly collapsed mid-lane, executing a textbook push to close out the game at the 17:40 mark with a 15-12 scoreline.
The victory cements their position at the top of the standings, tied with Aurora Gaming.
Meanwhile, the defeat sends AP Bren to the bottom of the table, sharing the spot with Twisted Minds Philippines.
