| The "Zaida and Yawi" era of TNC is officially on! MPL Philippines |
MANILA--TNC's long wait for a win finally ended on Saturday night after drubbing the newly retooled AP Bren, 2-0, in their MPL Philippines Season 15 battle at the Green Sun Hotel Ballroom.
Mark "Zaida" Palma starred for TNC as he showed that he is a starter caliber when his Suyou owned James "JamesPangks" Mendoza's Joy in both games.
Palma went 9-0-5 in Game 1 while holding Mendoza to a 1-5-1 record to give TNC the lead.
Palma then got huge help from Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera and Salvick "Kouzen" Talarba in Game 2 as Carl "Shizou" Valdez's efforts to turn things around came a bit too late for AP Bren.
TNC snapped a 15-match losing streak as they won for the first time since sweeping Smart Omega in its final match in Season 13 back on May 4, 2024.
TNC moved up to fourth place at 1-1, but the team will surely have someone ending up tied with them later Saturday when opening night winners Aurora and Onic Philippines collide in the rematch of last season's finals.
