Explosive 2nd half lifts Blackwater past NorthPort for 1st win in PBA PH Cup

MANILA--Blackwater rode on a sizzling second half to blow by NorthPort, 120-98, in their PBA Philippine Cup game on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Just up by one point, 48-47, at halftime, the Bossing exploded for 72 points in the last 24 minutes of action to pull away from the Batang Pier and win for the first time this conference.

Sedrick Barefield fired 5-of-8 from three-point range for 20 points with three rebounds, four assists, and three steals to lead Blackwater, which tied its victim at 1-2.

Christian David added 19 points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting on inside baskets, six rebounds, and one assist.

Joshua Munzon dropped 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals, while William Navarro added 24 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, and one block for NorthPort.
