MANILA--Gilas Pilipinas, New Zealand, and Chinese Taipei are in the same group again following Tuesday's FIBA Asia Cup draw in Riyadh.

The three teams, which were in Group B during the qualifying rounds, make up the core of Group D in the group stages, with Iraq completing the four-squad pool.

Host country Saudi Arabia found itself in a tough Group C that also consists of China, Jordan, and India.

All eyes, though, could be on Group A, which many fans believe is the "group of death", which consists of Australia, South Korea, Lebanon, and Qatar.

Jericho Cruz and Guam, on the other hand, were grouped into Group B along with Japan, Syria, and Iran.

The top teams per group will earn outright places in the quarterfinals, while the next two teams per pool will play in crossover playoffs to determine the remaining four quarterfinalists.
