MANILA--Parkour has been a hit among the big boys, as seen in various stunts done by professional performers in their vlogs.

However, the said stunts could be dangerous enough not to be taught to kids.

Interestingly, though, parkour is among the sports that will be part of this year's Milo Summer Sports Clinics as Milo Sports head Carlo Sampan announced on Tuesday in the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum at the PSC Conference Room inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Asked why Milo is putting up a coaching clinic for the said activity, Sampan said, "We want to continue our authority in sports."

He added that parkour is making a comeback in the Milo Sports Clinics this year after it was shelved for a few years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Parkour is one of the sports that's getting a following already because it's related to gymnastics and running," Sampan further said.

He then assured that "safety is our topmost priority" when teaching the younger ones the basics of parkour as well as other sports that are said to be injury-prone, like skateboarding, basketball, and combat sports.

"Last year, we were able to have our safeguarding workshop with the Philippine Sports Commission safeguarding committee, and this year is when we apply the learnings in making sure that we have a safe playing field for our kids and also those who are signing up for our sports clinics," Sampan continued.
