BINAN--Converge quickly recovered from a shock solid start by Blackwater and scored a 111-80 blowout win in their PBA Philippine Cup battle on Sunday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
The Bossing appeared to be on an early track for a major upset after taking a 24-21 lead at the end of the first quarter.
However, the FiberXers pulled away from there, outscoring the Bossing, 60-29, in the next two quarters to open an 81-53 cushion, which extended to a 35-point lead in the fourth period.
The two Justins, Justin Arana and Justine Baltazar, combined for 35 points, 21 rebounds, and four blocks to lead Converge, which will enter the Holy Week break with a 2-2 record.
Schonny Winston contributed 16 points, three rebounds, five assists, and one block.
RK Ilagan put up 19 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal to lead Blackwater, which dropped to 0-2.
