PBA: ROS outguns Meralco for back-to-back wins

MANILA--Rain Or Shine prevailed in a shootout against Meralco and walked away with a 128-116 win in their PBA Philippine Cup game on Sunday night at the Ynares Center 1 in Antipolo.

The Elasto Painters pulled away after outscoring the Bolts, 36-23, in the third quarter to open a 102-82 lead entering the fourth.

ROS extended its lead to as high as 27 points midway through the final period as Meralco, despite finishing the game strong, could only cut the lead down to 12 in the end.

Santi Santillan led the Elasto Painters, now tied with the NLEX Road Warriors for third place at 2-1, with 27 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and three blocks.

Gian Mamuyac and Adrian Nocum each added 24 points as ROS now won back-to-back games since falling to NLEX in their tournament opener.

Bong Quinto put up 23 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal, while CJ Cansino and Toto Jose each added 21 points off the bench for the Bolts, which fell to their third straight loss after a 2-0 start.
