MANILA—San Miguel returned from its Holy Week break revitalized, bludgeoning sister team Ginebra for a 104-93 win in their PBA Philippine Cup game on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Waiting for nine nights to get back on the winning track after falling to the Magnolia Hotshots in their previous outing, the Beermen dominated the Gin Kings, playing for the second time in three nights, from the get-go, opening a 25-11 first quarter lead and kept the lead until the end.

Ginebra tried to mount a comeback in the third quarter, but SMB weathered the rally and never looked back from there.

CJ Perez led the Beermen, now in second place at 3-1 behind the still unbeaten Hotshots, with 23 points, on 8-for-14 field goals including 2-of-4 on four-pointers, six rebounds, five assists, two steals, and one block.

Don Trollano added 19 points, two rebounds, and two assists, while June Mar Fajardo collected 18 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal.

Troy Rosario had 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting, eight rebounds, three assists, and one steal for the Gin Kings, who dropped to 1-1.

Jamie Malonzo, who sat out Ginebra's conference opener against Terrafirma, added 16 markers along with Stephen Holt as the Gin Kings played sans Jeremiah Gray, who took the night off following a knee injury scare last Wednesday.
