MANILA--Adrian Nocum put up a career game to give Rain Or Shine a huge boost in its quest to make the Top 4 ahead of the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals through a 109-99 win against Phoenix on Wednesday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Nocum dropped 30 points on 10-of-20 shooting to lead the way for the Elasto Painters, who quickly showed their might against the Fuel Masters and gradually pulled away to secure the win.
Jhonard Clarito also had himself a solid night as he contributed 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including 4-for-4 from three-point range, 10 rebounds, one assist, and two steals for ROS, which moved up to fifth place at 5-3, a half-game behind Ginebra for fourth place.
Ken Tuffin made 15 points on 5-of-9 field goals, including 3-of-5 from 22 feet out, and six rebounds for Phoenix, which fell to 2-6.
The result assured quarterfinal seats for San Miguel, NLEX, and Converge, which eliminated Terrafirma from playoff contention in the first game.
