PBA: After bidding adieu to Arvin Tolentino, NorthPort kisses playoff hopes goodbye with TNT rout

MANILA--NorthPort said goodbye twice on a Friday: to its superstar and to its PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinal hopes.

Barely a couple of hours after the Seoul SK Knights confirmed that they are signing Arvin Tolentino, the Batang Pier were blown out by the TNT Tropang 5G with a 70-94 result at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

TNT, which moved up to  essentially sealed the deal in the second quarter after outscoring NorthPort, 32-14, to pull away for good.

Calvin Oftana led six Tropang 5G in double figures with 15 points along with 10 rebounds and two assists.

RR Pogoy added 13 points, five rebounds, six assists, and three blocks, while Simon Enciso, Kelly Williams, and Poy Erram each chipped in 11 markers with Williams (12 rebounds) and Erram (10) each tallying a double-double.

Almond Vosotros even got quality minutes and scored 12 points, all on three-pointers, with two rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

Joshua Munzon was the lone bright spot for NorthPort, which dropped to 1-7, with 20 points, four rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks.
