PBA: NLEX continues hot run with rout vs Terrafirma

MANILA--NLEX zeroed in on the top spot in the PBA Philippine Cup standings after delivering a 117-87 beating to Terrafirma on Wednesday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Road Warriors started the game with a flurry, opening a 33-16 lead over the Dyip, and they held on to their huge lead until the end.

Brandon Ramirez, who dislocated his jaw last week against Ginebra, returned with a bang and posted a PBA career-high 21 points on 7-for-12 shooting, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal to lead NLEX, which is now on a five-game winning streak to move up to 5-1, a half-game behind Magnolia for first place.

JB Bahio added 17 points on 6-of-10 field goals, 10 rebounds, four assists, and one block, while Javee Mocon contributed 13 points on 4-for-7 field goals, including a perfect 2-for-2 clip from three-point range, 12 rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

Kevin Ferrer led Terrafirma, which dropped to 1-6 with its sixth straight defeat, with 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including 6-of-10 on threes, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

Louie Sangalang added 15 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks.
