PBA: ROS snaps Magnolia's perfect run with rage in Rodriguez

MANILA—Rain Or Shine put an end to Magnolia's blazing start in the PBA Philippine Cup with a 119-105 mauling on Sunday night at the Ynares Center 2 in Rodriguez, Rizal.

In front of 8,175 fans who packed the newly-built arena, the Elasto Painters surprised the Hotshots with a good mix of explosive offense and solid defense leading to a 37-21 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Magnolia appeared to have bounced back after cutting the lead down to 10, 62-52, at halftime, but behind a 30-19 third quarter, ROS pulled away for good.

Adrian Nocum led the Elasto Painters, who tied Barangay Ginebra for fourth place at 4-2, with 20 points on 8-for-12 field goals, two rebounds, and seven assists.

Santi Santillan added 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, 13 rebounds, one assist, and three blocks.

Zav Lucero led the Hotshots, who finally suffered a loss after a 6-0 start, with 17 points, six rebounds, one assist, and three blocks.
