MANILA--As it gears up for the upcoming qualifying tournament for the AFC Women's Asian Cup this coming June, the Philippine women's national football team called up a 24-girl squad for their training camp starting May 23 ahead of a friendly against Chinese Taipei at the newly-renovated Rizal Memorial Football Stadium on June 3.
In their official Facebook post last night, the Women's national football team summoned three new players, Julianna Barker, Megan Murray, and Ava Villapando, who were called from the U17 team.
The senior custodians, Olivia McDaniel, the returning Kiara Fontanilla, Inna Palacios, and Gabrielle Baker, are tapped to be the national goalkeeper.
The Filipinas midfield department will consist of players Sara Eggesvik, Kaya Hawkinson, Isabella Pasion, Ivymae Perez, Camille Sarihul, and Jaclyn Sawicki.
Although Sarina Bolden is absent, Alessandra Del Carpio, Paige McSwingan, Chayse Ying, and Chandler McDaniels were hired as the attackers for the women's football team.
The friendly serves as part of both teams' major preparation for the AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers.
