MANILA--Blackwater found its winning form again on Sunday night and spoiled what could be a grand farewell for Terrafirma in the PBA with a 97-82 rout at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The Dyip actually looked sharp to start the game as they took a 10-3 lead within the first three minutes of the game.
However, the Bossing took over from there and even led by 18, 45-27, late in the second quarter before holding on in the second half.
Richard Escoto put up 21 points on 5-of-7 field goals and 9-of-9 free throws, four rebounds, and one steal to lead Blackwater, which improved to 2-8.
Christian David added 19 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
Louie Sangalang led Terrafirma, which ended the Philippine Cup at 1-10, with 24 points, three assists, and one block.
One week after he said that he would miss the rest of his team's "last dance" due to a knee injury, Terrence Romeo made a surprise return and put up 10 points and two rebounds off the bench.
All eyes will now be on the ongoing franchise takeover process between the Dyip and potential new owners Zamboanga Valientes.
The Junnie Navarro-led group has until July 11 to pay the transfer fee of at least PHP100 million to secure the franchise pending a two-thirds approval from the PBA board.
