MANILA—The younger Yulo continues to carve his own path.
Sixteen-year-old Karl Eldrew Yulo added another feather to his cap after clinching the silver medal in vault at the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics Junior Asian Championships in Jecheon, South Korea.
Yulo posted an average score of 13.850 across two vaults, his first registering a 13.900 (difficulty 4.800, execution 9.100), and the second a 13.800 (difficulty 4.400, execution 9.400).
Host nation standout Bak Junwoo took home the gold with a 13.933, while fellow South Korean Daegeon An earned the bronze with 13.783.
The younger brother of two-time Olympic champion and four-time AGU Vault gold medalist Carlos Yulo, Eldrew continues to show promise on the international stage.
He also qualified for the finals in Pommel Horse, Floor Exercise, and Horizontal Bar.
He narrowly missed out on a podium finish in pommel horse, scoring 12.600, just 0.066 short of Japan’s Harutoshi Ochiai, who claimed bronze.
Yulo finished sixth in the floor exercise with 12.266, and eighth in the horizontal bar after notching a 12.033.
Earlier in the competition, he fell just short of qualifying for the all-around finals after finishing 9th in the qualification round.
Yulo was last year’s vault gold medalist in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and remains one of the brightest young prospects in Philippine gymnastics.
