Marcio Lassiter catches fire as SMB ties PBA PH Cup semis vs Ginebra

MANILA—Marcio Lassiter stepped up for San Miguel amid the injury scare to June Mar Fajardo as the team romped Ginebra, 100-83, in Game 2 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals on Friday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

With Fajardo limited to only 17 and a half minutes off the bench as he recovers from a calf tightness, Lassiter smoked the Gin Kings with a 4-of-5 clip from three-point range to spark the Beermen's domination.

Lassiter finished with 16 points on 6-of-8 field goals alongside one rebound, one assist, and two steals to lead SMB, which tied the best-of-seven series at one game apiece.

Don Trollano added 14 points, six rebounds, and two steals off the bench in a game where Fajardo only finished with two points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Stephen Holt made 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-6 on threes, four rebounds, and one assist for Ginebra.
