MAKATI--With a twice-to-beat advantage in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals within reach, TNT does not want to rest on its laurels and has activated its two new recruits ahead of a crucial weekend.

The PBA announced on Thursday that both Jordan Heading and Mike Nieto have been activated for the Tropang 5G's hectic weekend, beginning with a Friday night showdown against the Blackwater Bossing.

Both guards were acquired from Converge earlier this week, Heading through a trade for Mikey Williams and Nieto through free agency.

To make room for the new signings, Ping Exciminiano and CJ Payawal are placed on the unrestricted free agent list.

Both Heading and Nieto are set to return to action after injuries kept them out for most of the ongoing conference.

A win against Blackwater would serve as a huge boost for TNT, still reeling from the injury bug that has affected Jayson Castro and Rey Nambatac, ahead of the rematch of the two previous conference finals against Ginebra on Sunday night.

Like the Tropang 5G, the Gin Kings are also aiming to secure a Top 4 finish in the eliminations, which would give them a one-win advantage in the next round.

On the other hand, the Bossing, already out of playoff contention, can still play spoilers to someone else's twice-to-beat dreams.
