MANILA--Rain or Shine rode on staying with its system until the end to eliminate NLEX from PBA Philippine Cup contention through a 103-92 quarterfinals Game 2 win on Saturday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Down by 11 early in the second quarter with Robert Bolick waxing hot, the Elasto Painters slowly chipped away the lead and pulled away in the fourth quarter after opening a 96-82 advantage with less than four minutes left.

Santi Santillan led ROS, which is now the next in line to try to spoil TNT's grand slam attempt in the semifinals beginning Wednesday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, with 24 points, nine rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and two steals.

Andrei Caracut added 16 points and one assist, while Jhonard Clarito continued his impressive rebounding prowess with 16 boards along with 13 points, one assist, and one block.

Bolick finished with 34 points along with six rebounds, four assists, and two steals, but he tallied only five points in the fourth quarter as NLEX was only held to 15 in the said period and squandered its twice-to-beat advantage.
