QUEZON CITY--The MLBB Women's Invitational championship will now either go to Indonesia or the United States as Team Liquid, the last Filipina hope, was whipped by Team Vitality, 3-0, in the semifinals on Friday at the SNB Esports Arena in Riyadh.
The Indonesian side showed why it is tagged as the favorite to rule the MWI, dominating Liquid early into the three games.
Liquid tried to stay resilient in the late game, especially in Game 3 where it had its best chance to pull off a comeback.
However, a wipeout in the end was all Vitality needed to seal the series.
Vitality will now face American squad Gaimin Gladiators in the best-of-seven finals on Saturday.
GG, which dethroned NaVi PH from the MWI throne, edged out Terror Queens, 3-1, in the battle between tournament sensations.
A 4-0 sweep by Vitality, 4-0 in matches and 9-0 in games so far, against GG will complete a rare perfect run game-wise, something the club formerly known as Bigetron Era also did in the 2023 MWI.
Liquid and TQ are also not done yet in the MWI as they will face off in a best-of-five series for third place.
