MANILA--The PBA is pushing through with Game 5 of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals between TNT and San Miguel at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday night even if two cyclones are affecting much of Luzon at the moment.
The league announced just as the clock struck noon that the show would go on as scheduled even if inclement weather is expected to continue throughout the day due to Tropical Storm "Dante" and the newly-developed Tropical Depression "Emong".
Uncertainty arose over the past two days due to stormy weather brought about by the southwest monsoon intensified by typhoon "Crising" and later by Dante, which flooded much of the Mega Manila provinces.
The possibility of the postponement further surfaced when Quezon City mayor Joy Belmonte placed the entire city under a state of calamity.
However, as the weather somehow improved early Wednesday, the PBA decided to give the go-signal for Game 5.
The Beermen are looking to finish off the grand slam-seeking Tropang 5G in Game 5 of the championship series scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off and win their 30th PBA championship.
