MANDALUYONG--Just around the same time Aurora announced Renejay Bacarse's departure, TNC and Smart Omega Neos also announced on Wednesday that two of their key players are leaving too.
TNC announced that Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera left its squad right after he led them back to the MPL Philippines playoffs.
On the other hand, Smart Omega Neos revealed it just let go of John "H2WO" Salonga in what seems like another chapter in the entire Smart Omega club's massive rebuild ahead of MPL Philippines Season 16 and MDL Philippines Season 6.
Speculations of a reunion between Bacarse, Cabrera, and Salonga, who all played with Setsuna "AkoSiDogie" Ignacio under the defunct Nexplay Evos club, sparked when Ignacio called them for a reunion.
Many first speculated that Bacarse and Salonga will join Cabrera at TNC, which Ignacio backed during Season 15, as it looks to build up from its postseason return, but Cabrera's departure added more questions.
The plot thickened when Ignacio, during a live stream, announced that he is stepping away from Mobile Legends Bang Bang, fueling speculation that the former star esports gamer might drag his three friends to rival title Honor of Kings.
Whatever the next endeavor is for Bacarse, Cabrera, Salonga, and Ignacio could be a major game-changer in the Philippine esports scene.
