PASAY--Ginebra was not done surprising everyone in the PBA Draft as it used its second round picks for shock selections on Sunday night at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.
Two picks after drafting Sonny Estil at number 11, the Gin Kings used the first pick of the second round and 13th overall to acquire Mario Barasi.
Like Estil, Barasi was part of the Mythical Five in the draft combine, impressing coach Tim Cone to take him immediately over the likes of Cole Micek.
Ginebra also held the 23rd overall pick and used it for John Abis.
Abis is currently part of the Perpetual Help Altas being managed by superstar Gin King Scottie Thompson, himself a Perpetual Help alumnus.
Phoenix went for Dave Ando at 14th overall, while Blackwater went for high-flying Quezon big Ximone Sandagon at 15th.
CJ Austria went to NorthPort at number 16, while NLEX selected second-generation player Arvin Gamboa at 17th.
Bruising College of St. Benilde big man Shawn Umali went to Terrafirma at 18th, while Meralco picked Vince Magbuhos at 19th.
Rain Or Shine, known for finding diamonds in the rough in the second round, had all three picks within the 13-24 range used for Mark Omega (20th overall), Deo Cuajao (22nd), and Joshua David (24th).
Converge took Kobe Monje with its own second-round pick, which was 21st overall.
