MAKATI--Team Liquid Philippines dominated AP Bren for a 2-0 win in the last match for the first round of MPL Philippines Season 16 on Sunday night at the Green Sun Hotel Ballroom.
Liquid PH pulled off one more surprise to end the first round as Sanford Vinuya went for a Dyrroth to match up against "Lord JM" Sebastian's Uranus in Game 1.
It worked wonders as Vinuya scored four kills early on before holding off one last stand from AP Bren to go 1-0 up.
Liquid PH virtually sealed Game 1 with a savage from Alston "Sanji" Pabico in the final Lord fight.
The reigning MLBB Mid-Season Cup then banked on its strong macro gaming late into Game 2, securing crucial kills in the final push to complete the sweep.
Liquid PH ended the first round tied with fellow Season 15 finalist Onic Philippines at 5-2, but the former will settle for third place on game-win difference.
AP Bren, on the other hand, fell to seventh place at 2-5.
