Women's Futsal World Cup: Filipina5 to meet strong continental bets, Pasig City as solo city host

MANILA -- The 16 team debutants were settled and found their groupmates, now waiting for the official commencement of the inaugural FIFA Women's Futsal World Cup after the official draw held Monday afternoon at BGC Arts Center in Taguig City. 

The Filipina5, known for the Philippine Women's National Futsal Team, already aware that they will meet the strong continental bets from different confederations. 

As they automatically situated in Group A being the host of this first-ever version of the Women's Futsal World Cup, the National Footiebelles will try to get three three points against World No. 6 and the runners-up of the Copa América de Futsal Femenina, Argentina, the champions of Women's Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco, and Poland. 

Whoever hailed as top 2 of Groups A to D will qualify to the Quarterfinals. 

The World No. 2, Spain, will look forward against Thailand, Columbia, and Canada at Group B. 

While, the World No. 4, Portugal, will see Tanzania, Japan, and New Zealand at Group C.

Finally, the top nation in Women's ranking, Brazil, will meet Iran, Italy, and Panama at Group D. 

Before the final draw, the Philippine Football Federation early announced that Victorias City, Negros Occidental will no longer co-host city of this tournament citing logistical and operational considerations. 

In effect, the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City will host all the matches starting November 21 - December 7.
