MANILA--Jamie Malonzo may not be leaving the Japan B.League just yet.

Moments after Kyoto announced his departure, the high-flying forward said that he is currently reaching out to other B.League teams, effectively ruling out the possibility of returning to the Philippines.

"I'm 100 percent healthy and ready to continue the season. I'm in talks with other teams and excited to continue my journey here in Japan," Malonzo said in a statement on his Instagram account.

The statement also ruled out speculations about whether he has been playing hurt during his short stay with the Hannaryz.

Malonzo only played a total of 33 basketball minutes during his five-game run with Kyoto, or an average of a little over six and a half minutes per game.

He only scored six points in total in the short stint, or an average of 1.2 per game, leading to fans wondering whether he is nursing an injury.

Despite having to part ways with them, Malonzo said that he is grateful for the time he spent with the Hannaryz.

"I'm grateful for my time with Kyoto, and thankful to the organization, teammates, coaches, and amazing fans for all the support," Malonzo concluded.
