MANILA––San Sebastian's prized freshmen recruit showed that they are ready for big-time basketball as they led the team to a 100-94 double overtime win against Lyceum in their NCAA men's basketball showdown on Friday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
Ian Cuajao made great use of his license to shoot, draining seven threes, including one with 20 seconds left in the second overtime period that turned out to be the dagger for the Golden Stags.
Cuajao finished with 25 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals off the bench.
Jhuniel Dela Rama then provided the needed muscle underneath as he grabbed 23 rebounds while also scoring 15 points for the double-double, along with three assists and three steals.
Christian Ricio also had 25 points with four rebounds, two assists, and three steals as San Sebastian finally scored its first win of the season after a 0-2 start.
Ato Barba's 32-point blast went down the drain as the Pirates lost their second double-overtime game of the season and fell to 0-3.
