MANILA—Magnolia notched its second win with LA Tenorio as its new head coach as it trampled Titan Ultra, 127-119, in their PBA Philippine Cup battle on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Despite only returning to action nearly two weeks after their opening night win against Barangay Ginebra, the Hotshots did not lose their winning touch as they pulled away from the Giant Risers in the last quarter, opening a 119-98 lead with less than three minutes left.

Titan Ultra eventually found rhythm in its outside shooting, but it was a bit too late for a comeback.

Zav Lucero led Magnolia with 23 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, and one block, while Ian Sangalang added 21 points, five rebounds, and three assists off the bench.

Mark Barroca and Russel Escoto each poured in 16 points, with the latter going 7-for-7 from the field.

Joshua Munzon fired 28 points, two rebounds, six assists, three steals, and one block for Titan Ultra, which dropped back-to-back games after shocking Meralco in its PBA debut.
