MANILA--San Miguel finally broke out of its surprise early slump in the PBA Philippine Cup as it tripped Rain Or Shine, 111-93, on Sunday night at the Ynares Center 2 in Rodriguez, Rizal.
The Beermen imposed their defensive supremacy on the Elasto Painters, opening a 46-34 halftime lead even if the latter now has added offensive firepower in Stanley Pringle.
ROS somehow got its offense going in the third quarter, but a 37-point fourth quarter sealed the blowout for SMB.
CJ Perez led the Beermen, now 1-2 in the standings, with 23 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Marcio Lassiter added 18 points on a near-perfect 3-for-4 shooting from three-point range and six rebounds.
June Mar Fajardo contributed 17 points on 7-of-11 field goals, 14 rebounds, four assists, one block, and two steals.
Adrian Nocum led the Elasto Painters, who fell to 1-1, with 17 points, five rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Pringle put up 11 points on three triples, one rebound, four assists, and one steal off the bench in his ROS debut.
