MANILA--TNT forged a late storm in Vigan to beat Converge, 110-103, in their Saturday night PBA Philippine Cup game at the said city's Chavit Coliseum.

Just when the FiberXers were about to complete a comeback from 14 points down, the Tropang 5G made it rain from long range to douse cold water on the late run.

Banking on an 18-8 start to the fourth quarter, Converge forced the last deadlock of the game at 90-all with 5:26 left.

However, two four-pointers from Rey Nambatac, with a triple from RR Pogoy in between, gave TNT a comfortable 101-92 lead with 4:04 to play.

Juan Gomez De Liano tried to lead another FiberXer comeback, scoring six straight points while setting up baskets from Balti Baltazar and Schonny Winston, but the rookie's clutch efforts fell short.

Pogoy finished with 27 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block for the Tropang 5G, who moved up to 2-1 after bouncing back from a Wednesday night loss to Barangay Ginebra.

Calvin Oftana added 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Justin Arana and Alec Stockton each scored 19 markers, while Baltazar added 17 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks for the FiberXers, who fell to 1-1.
