SAN JUAN, MM--Arellano made it a point not to slide down even further in Group A of the NCAA Season 101 men’s basketball tournament after routing Lyceum, 74-56, at Playtime FilOil Centre on Wednesday.
Following their third straight win, the Chiefs also solidified their footing as the third seed of the group with a 6-6 record.
“Sabi ko sa kanila, maging consistent lang sila sa system, offensively at defensively. Ang maganda e nasuklian ‘yong viewing at preparations namin,” coach Chico Manabat said.
“Tiningnan namin lahat ng tendencies ng Lyceum para maging consistent kami sa mga ginawa namin before.”
Arellano’s victory allowed the Chiefs to enter the quarterfinals without having to enter a play-in game for the fourth seed.
They still have a chance to tie with Mapua (7-5) to gain a twice-to-beat incentive for the playoffs.
