MANILA—Josh Moralejo came alive at the most needed time for Lyceum as it handed San Beda a stinging 78-66 defeat in their NCAA men's basketball crossover phase battle on Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

In a game where Ato Barba, the usual suspect for the Pirates for quite a while, had a quiet game, Moralejo shouted the loudest for them, erupting for 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting to lead them to a huge upset against the Red Lions.

However, Moralejo put on a show in the fourth quarter, nearly outscoring San Beda by himself while hitting huge threes that helped Lyceum pull away for good.

Moralejo ended up 5-for-7 from long range as he also tallied five rebounds, four assists, and one steal for the Pirates, who moved up to 2-7.

Gyle Montano added 15 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Janti Miller once again had a Herculean effort with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including 7-of-8 from inside the three-point line, six rebounds, and two assists, but it came just short as the Red Lions are now tied with the College of St. Benilde Blazers for the top spot in Group B at 6-3.
