Magnolia rips NLEX to clinch PBA PH Cup QF spot

MANILA—Magnolia made sure it would secure a place in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals before flying for Manama with an 98-82 rout against NLEX on Sunday night at the Ynares Center 2 in Rodriguez, Rizal.

The Hotshots pulled away for good after holding the Road Warriors to only eight points in the second quarter en route to a 47-30 halftime lead.

Zav Lucero led Magnolia, which tied its victim at 6-3, with 18 points on 5-of-9 field goals, 12 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and two steals.

Rome Dela Rosa added 14 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block.

Robert Bolick and Javee Mocon each scored 12 points for NLEX.
