PASAY––Ian Torres scored the game-winning basket at the final buzzer as College of St. Benilde forced a rubber match in its NCAA men's basketball semifinals against San Beda with a 77-75 Game 2 win on Friday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Torres raced through time from end to end after Nygel Gonzales and Jomel Puno missed their layups and released a floater just in time to win it for the Blazers.
Tony Ynot led CSB with 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals, while Torres added 17 points, two rebounds, and two assists.
Both guards went 7-for-11 from the field, including near-perfect clips from inside the arc.
Justine Sanchez contributed 14 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and one block.
Gonzales led San Beda with 17 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
Game 3 is on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
