ANTIPOLO--San Miguel stretched its hot winning streak in the PBA Philippine Cup to seven straight games after mauling Blackwater, 116-92, on Saturday night at the Ynares Center 1.
Behind a near-flawless ball control that saw them commit only four turnovers, the Beermen, despite being given a challenge in the third quarter, blew past the already ousted Bossing to solidify their chances for a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.
Don Trollano led SMB, which tied Rain or Shine at the top of the team standings at 7-2, with 22 points on 8-of-16 field goals, including 5-of-6 on twos, and four rebounds.
CJ Perez added 16 points, two rebounds, one assist, and two steals, while Rodney Brondial contributed 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting, 10 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals.
June Mar Fajardo chipped in 11 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.
James Una led Blackwater, which dropped to its ninth straight loss at 1-9, with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting, 12 rebounds, two assists, and one block.
