ANTIPOLO--It did not take long for Will McAloney to find a new home amid plans of his former team to skip this year's MPBL cagefest.
The six-foot-five bruiser inked a contract with the reigning South Division champion Quezon for the upcoming season, which begins in April.
The team announced on Friday night that it has acquired McAloney, who has been a dominating presence inside.
McAloney won an MPBL title with Nueva Ecija in 2022 and stayed with the team until last year.
However, he was released along with the rest of the squad amid the club management's decision to take a leave of absence this year.
McAloney will join Ced Manzano in solidifying the Huskers' frontline after they let Ximone Sandagon sign with the Blackwater Bossing in the PBA.
Quezon is one of the first two teams confirmed to be joining in a preseason event pitting 16 teams starting on Feb. 7.
McAloney averaged 11.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists last season with the Rice Vanguards.
