MANILA--It took one decisive team fight for Aurora Gaming Philippines to move further into the M7 knockout phase after beating Team Liquid, 2-1, in their upper bracket quarterfinal duel on Sunday at the XO Hall in Jakarta.
On the verge of getting blown out in Game 3 as Liquid held a 4,700-gold lead, Aurora PH turned things around when Jonard "Demonkite" Caranto stole the second Lord.
Aurora PH continued the aggression and wiped out Liquid in the ensuing clash, and despite Sanford Vinuya's best efforts to buy some time, Aurora PH was cleared for the finish.
Aurora PH will face the winner of the all-Indonesian showdown between Alter Ego and Onic Indonesia in the upper bracket semifinals.
Liquid, on the other hand, will now try to keep its Golden Road hopes alive in the lower bracket, where a loss will mean elimination from title contention.
