QUEZON CITY--JD Cagulangan's solid pro basketball stint hit a snag as he injured his ACL in Suwon's 80-82 loss at Wonju on Thursday night.

Cagulangan hurt his left knee with 4:21 left in the second quarter while trying to get past Lee Yong-Woo in a drive to the basket.

An ACL injury usually takes 6-8 months to heal, effectively ruling the Filipino import out for the rest of the KBL season, with a possibility of still sitting out during the early stages of next season.

Cagulangan's loss became vital as the Promy, who trailed 35-41 when the injury happened, slowly crawled back to take the home win against the Sonicboom.

Ethan Alvano put up 26 points on 11-of-20 shooting, including 10-of-13 from inside the arc, two rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, and one block for Wonju, which moved up to a tie with Anyang for second place at 19-10, 1.5 games behind league-leading Changwon.

Essam Mostafa added 15 points on 5-of-6 field goals, five rebounds, and one assist.

Derrick Williams put up 32 points, eight rebounds, one assist, three steals, and two blocks for Suwon, which dropped to 15-15, although still enjoying a safe distance from Goyang for the sixth and last playoff spot.
