QUEZON CITY—Jeron Teng delivered the needed boost for San Miguel to get back at Ginebra with a 93-84 win in Game 2 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Kept on the bench in Game 1 and even in the first half of Game 2, Teng made the most of his quality minutes in the second half, scoring 12 of the Beermen's 28 points in the fourth quarter that helped them pull away from the Gin Kings.
Teng finished with 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists to backstop June Mar Fajardo, who had another monster game with 21 points, 23 rebounds, one assist, and one block for SMB, which tied the best-of-seven series at 1-1.
Stephen Holt and RJ Abarrientos each scored 18 points for Ginebra, which saw its eight-game winning streak that catapulted them to the semis despite a 2-4 start.
