MANILA--RR Pogoy could be dearly missed as TNT tries to close out Meralco in Game 5 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals.
Pogoy admitted that he is very likely to sit out the Tropang 5G's potential series clincher on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City due to a hamstring injury.
"May pumitik," Pogoy shared how he suffered the hamstring strain, adding that he aggravated the same injury he got last year.
Pogoy revealed that he played through some pain in Game 3, where he exploded for 28 points in hopes of keeping TNT in the game against Meralco, which eventually won.
However, in Game 4 on Sunday night, the injury became a bit too much, and he left the game for good after only 64 seconds of playing time.
Luckily for Pogoy, Poy Erram exploded and led the Tropang 5G to the win and the pivotal 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven affair.
"Last game pa lang, may nafi-feel ako, pero ngayon bumigay talaga siya. Pero Grade 1 lang naman. May strain lang nang konti," Pogoy further said.
He further revealed that he needs at least two weeks to recover from the injury, also making him doubtful for Games 6 and 7 if the Bolts extend the series.
It is now up to Erram, Calvin Oftana, and the rest of the TNT crew to find ways to alleviate Pogoy's possible absence and formally eliminate Meralco from contention.
