PASAY—Scottie Thompson did not just set a career-high but made modern-day PBA history to lift Ginebra to a 105-91 win against San Miguel in Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals on Sunday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Thompson tallied his first 30-point game in his pro career as he finished with 35 points on 13-of-18 field goals, including 5-of-7 on threes.
However, he also tallied 11 rebounds and 11 assists, marking the first time a PBA local completed a 30-point triple-double since Gin Kings assistant coach Johnny Abarrientos achieved the feat in 1993.
Japeth Aguilar added 14 points, six rebounds, one assist, and one block as Ginebra tied the best-of-seven series at two games apiece.
CJ Perez led the Beermen, who could not sustain a hot first quarter, with 22 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Chris Ross added 20 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in a game where June Mar Fajardo was held to single digits for the second straight game after three consecutive 20-20 performances.
