MANILA--While coach Tim Cone is busy with his national team duties, his club went to work behind the scenes in shoring up its frontline.
Ginebra swung a straight-up trade with Terrafirma, acquiring Kemark Cariño in exchange for fellow former Bedan Ben Adamos.
The PBA trade committee announced the approval of the swap on Friday.
Both big men are known for having some solid perimeter shooting, but Carino, at six-feet-nine, would make a solid complement down low for the Gin Kings, especially since they will stick with Justin Brownlee for the PBA Commissioner's Cup.
However, Carino may only be available by April, by the middle of the conference, as he continues to rehabilitate his previously internally deranged knee.
Adamos, on the other hand, finally gets more solid playing time with the Dyip after he struggled to get some with the Gin Kings.
Adamos, who later moved to Perpetual Help before turning pro, is expected to backstop seven-foot import Mubashar Ali at the interior for Terrafirma.
