MANILA—Defending champion Team Liquid Philippines formally unveiled its roster for the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 17, retaining its championship core while integrating new talent ahead of another title defense.
The announcement marks the organization's first major personnel adjustment following its back-to-back MPL PH championships, including a dominant Season 16 sweep that reaffirmed its position among the league's top contenders.
Bannering the Season 17 lineup is veteran jungler Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno, who remains the centerpiece of Liquid's system alongside returning standouts Sanford Vinuya (EXP Lane), Alston "Sanji" Pabico (Mid Lane), and Jaypee Dela Cruz (Roamer).
However, the biggest change in the roster happened in the gold lane.
As Kiel "Oheb" Soriano goes to the inactive roster, Sultan "AeronnShikii" Muhammad, the former TLID gold laner, and Kim "Daiki" Sebanes, a homegrown talent with TL Academy, are both set to reinforce the gold lane rotation, while Santi Noble adds depth to the roaming position as the team expands its strategic flexibility entering the new season.
The organization also confirmed changes within its coaching staff, appointing Ong Wei Shang, better known as Coach AEON, as head coach, joined by Allec "SN4P" Alberto as assistant coach.
Coach AEON had previously coached in MPL Singapore, notably becoming the brain for RSG SG, EVOS SG, Team Flash, and SMG.
Meanwhile, SN4P, who previously coached Omega Esports, is expected to provide continuity and in-game stability, forming a dual-coach structure aimed at balancing innovation and system familiarity throughout the season.
The roster reveal comes as MPL Philippines teams begin locking in lineups ahead of Season 17, which is projected to open on March 20 following widespread offseason roster movements across the league.
