MANILA--Fresh off a quarterfinal finish in the recently concluded PBA Philippine Cup, the NLEX Road Warriors are looking to improve their record by tapping 6’10” slotman Cady Lalanne for their campaign in the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup.
Born in Haiti, Lalanne, whose signing was announced on Monday night, played high school basketball for Oak Ridge HS in Orlando, Florida.
For his senior year with the Pioneers in 2009-10, he averaged a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds, with 4 blocks per game while leading the team to a 24-8 record and a league title.
Suiting up for the University of Massachusetts in college, Lalanne became one of only three players in UMass history to record 1,000 points, 800 rebounds, and 100 blocks by the end of his four-year varsity career in 2015.
In his final season with the Minutemen, he averaged 11.6 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks in 32 contests.
He also shone in the Portsmouth Invitation tournament, which is an exclusive league for college seniors, becoming a part of the All-Tournament team after registering 13.3 points and a league-best 12.3 rebounds per game.
Following his collegiate tenure, Lalanne was selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the 55th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
Assigned to the then Spurs’ NBA G-League affiliate Austin, Lalanne made his presence felt in his pro debut with a 12-point outing in a win over the Texas Legends.
Months later, he was named to the West All-Star team for the 2016 D-League All-Star game.
Lalanne would later pursue the international route for the rest of his professional career.
He helped the Capitanes de Arecibo capture Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) crown in 2016. Lalanne was also a key member of the Kuwait Sporting Club side that won the Arab Clubs Championship in 2022.
Aside from these clubs, Lalanne also suited up for the Chinese Basketball Association's Zhejiang Golden Bulls, Turkish team Besiktas, Baxi Manresa of Spain, and Korean clubs Changwon LG Sakers, Suwon KT Sonicboom, Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters, and Busan KCC Egis, among others.
Before the PBA, the 33-year-old Lalanne played for the Kaohsiung Aquas in the 2025-2026 Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL) season, in which he averaged 15.8 points and 9.5 rebounds in 12 matches.
His presence in the paint is expected to boost the NLEX Road Warriors’ frontline, particularly on the offensive end, complementing the team’s current pool of bigs, which includes Dave Marcelo, Brandon Ramirez, and Jonnel Policarpio.
