MANILA--Mark Nonoy and Louie Sangalang are interestingly not listed in Terrafirma's roster for the PBA Commissioner's Cup, which begins on Wednesday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Nonoy and Sangalang, two players who have stood out for the Dyip amid their struggles, were left out of the lineup, the league announced on Tuesday.
Good thing for them, number one pick Geo Chiu will finally make his PBA debut after spending most of the Philippine Cup contributing to the Abra Weavers' MPBL championship success.
The 6-foot-10 Chiu will form a twin tower inside the paint with seven-foot import Mubashar Ali, as he could be more than enough to make up for Sangalang's absence.
Nonoy's absence means it is time for Paul Garcia, Paolo Hernandez, and Brent Paraiso to step up at the point guard position, even as Maverick Ahanmisi will continue to be there for leadership purposes.
Terrafirma will open the mid-season conference on Wednesday night against Titan Ultra, which will parade Rensy Bajar as its new head coach.
