QUEZON CITY--Aurora Gaming Philippines sparked a winning streak in MPL Philippines Season 17 after a 2-0 sweep against Twisted Minds Philippines on Saturday night at Victoria Sports Tower.
Aurora PH showed that Harley, which has been unstoppable at the jungle early into the season, can be vulnerable as they found ways to beat Michael "MP The King" Endino even if he was using the said hero.
Twisted Minds PH looked poised to score a huge upset as it opened Game 1 with Endino, who secured the first turtle, and Miguel "Sionnn" Alcantara scoring the first three kills.
However, as Jonard "Demonkite" Caranto took the next two turtles, Aurora PH slowly bounced back, and the turnaround was established after he secured the first Lord, killing three people, including Endino, in the process.
Aurora PH went for the jugular after the third Lord fight, with Caranto securing the Lord and his teammates winning another 3-for-0 clash which left Lance "Lansu" Misa and Carlo "Caloy" Roma to unsuccessfully defend Twisted Minds PH's base.
Endino tried to bounce back with a Harley again in Game 2, but Aurora PH's early game brilliance was just too much for Twisted Minds PH.
In a similar situation with how they started Season 16, Aurora PH bounced back from its season-opening loss to Team Liquid Philippines and has now won back-to-back matches to move up to third place at 2-1.
Meanwhile, Twisted Minds PH dropped to the bottom of the standings with a 1-3 record and a minus-4 game-win difference.
