QUEZON CITY--Smart Omega prevailed in a marathon Game 2 to complete a 2-0 sweep against TNC in their MPL Philippines Season 17 match-up on Saturday night at the Victoria Sports Tower.
Smart Omega already had two lanes cleared and looked poised to finish Game 2 sooner, but TNC's defense held forth and even built a huge gold lead to set up a possible comeback.
However, Justine "Zaida" Palma hesitated at first to trigger his retribution off a Fanny sneak-in.
When he decided to go for it, Dean "Raizen" Sumagui beat him into taking the evolved Lord.
Palma and Joshua "Chaknu" Mangilog were then killed during the Lord fight, making it easier for Smart Omega to complete the endable push after almost 32 minutes.
After a 0-2 start, Smart Omega finally won a match in the season and even overtook Onic Philippines for fifth place on a better game-win difference.
TNC, on the other hand, was sent back to earth after a Friday night shocker against Onic PH and fell to 1-3.
