MANILA--PBA commissioner Willie Marcial invited Converge swingman Calvin Abueva to his office to explain his side when he shouted "Paldo!" upon entering his team's dugout following a 93-99 loss to Ginebra on Sunday night.
Abueva, who despite suiting up did not play at all as he still recovers from his injury, stormed out of the Smart Araneta Coliseum's hardwood shouting "Paldo ang referees!" seemingly accusing the officiating crew of favoring the Gin Kings with certain calls and non-calls.
The enigmatic forward even continued, "Apat silang paldo!" which Marcial heard too right after the game.
Abueva posted a selfie of himself inside the league's office in Quezon City on Monday and said, "Tapos na. Wait na lang tayo sa resulta."
Marcial himself confirmed that he indeed summoned Abueva.
While a suspension is unlikely, Abueva is expected to be slapped with a fine for his caught-on-cam rant.
After opening the PBA Commissioner's Cup with a win against the Macau Black Knights, the FiberXers lost their next four and are now staring at the possibility of once again missing the semifinals or worse, getting eliminated from the playoffs altogether.
